My passions for labor and delivery, photography, and counseling have a home together with Swaddled Birth Services.
As a child, I grew up with my mother sharing her stories so passionately as a labor and delivery nurse. This had such an impact on my life, and it helped stir a desire in my heart to follow in her footsteps. However, life happened quickly, and I got married in college and became a school teacher instead.
It was during my time as a teacher that my dream to be involved in labor and delivery began to make it’s way into my life. I held my friend’s hand as she delivered her baby and was able to catch some of those moments on camera for her.
I absolutely fell in love with that experience and continued to offer my services to friends and family as someone offering birth support and birth photography since 2003. After each delivery, I swaddle each baby with a swaddling blanket and sing a special blessing over each baby. This is a very special part for the families I serve, and is my signature, thus the name Swaddled Birth Services.
Throughout the years of assisting my friends during their deliveries, life continued on and I had three children of my own, became a Licensed Professional Counselor, and founded a non-profit organization called Cradled by love, hope, and healing (www.cradled.org). Because this season of my life is so full, I only accept a limited amount of births per month. I arrange my life to be available to you 24/7 from 38 weeks until delivery.
